Manchester United appear to have set their minds on a likely departure for Jadon Sancho in the 2024 January transfer window.
Sancho is currently embroiled in a rift with manager Erik Ten Hag, and it appears both parties are not ready to settle their differences.
Jadon Sancho joined Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund on July 23, 2021, for a fee of €85 million.
Reports on Thursday, October 19, 2020, revealed that the forward was not included in the first team photoshoot of Manchester United for the 2023-2024 season.
Sancho branded Ten Hag as a liar
The Englishman’s rift with Erik Ten Hag came to the fore, after he seemingly branded his manager a liar in a lengthy statement shared on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Ten Hag was asked before Manchester United’s 3-1 loss to Arsenal about the reason for Sancho’s absence and he instantly expressed that it was due to the 23-year-old’s performance in training.
Jadon Sancho afterward responded with a statement on X, sharing that he has been scapegoated for too long.
He insisted that Ten Hag’s comments were basically “untrue”, as he believes there were other reasons for him being dropped from the game against Arsenal on September 3, 2023.
A part of his statement read: “Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue.
“I have conducted myself in training very well this week.”
He added: “I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into.
“I have been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair! All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team.”
Jadon Sancho has failed to live up to expectations since he arrived at Manchester United in July 2021.
Manager Erik Ten Hag offered him the opportunity to get back to his best, as he was sent to the Netherlands for training purposes.
His disciplinary issues have always reared its ugly head, as reports indicate that he spends long nights on the computer and he is addicted to Video games.
Former club Borussia Dortmund are looking to re-sign him but they are also worried about his discipline.
Clubs interested in signing Jadon Sancho from Manchester United?
He has been linked with several other clubs, including Barcelona and Saudi Pro League club Al Ettifaq.
Barcelona are admiring the possibility of signing him, as they see him as a diamond in the rough.
Pro League club Al Ettifaq couldn’t sign him in the 2023 summer transfer window due to their inability to meet the demands of Manchester United.
Before Jason Sancho’s squabble with Erik Ten Hag, he had made 3 appearances for the Red Devils this season, scoring no goal and providing no assist.
Sancho’s future at Old Trafford continues to be a huge subject of conversation, but some reports are indicating that the Englishman could return to the first-team if Erik Ten Hag is dismissed.
