Manchester United center-back, Eric Bailly has found himself on the sideline again after being injured again Chelsea in the teams 3-1 loss in the semifinals of the FA Cup.
His injury was following an aerial collision with team-mate Harry Maguire. The Ivorian was quickly taken to hospital.
Speaking during a press conference, United’s manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed that the defender had a cut on the back of his head that required attention.
Maguire, who also suffered a cut above the eye during his collision with Bailly is fine, but had to finish the first half with heavy strapping around his forehead. He will be making his 37th league appearance of the season, maintaining his ever-present record.
The injury woes of Eric Bailley
Bailly, who started his professional career at Espanyol, before moving to Villarreal has had some injury nightmares especially since his move to Old Trafford.
According to research, the Ivorian has not had a full season without injury with the Red Devils after moving to the club in June 2016.
His injury record available showed that Bailley was out for Villareal on November 2, 2015 till November 16 due to a hamstring injury.
He later suffered another shoulder Injury during the same season on Janurary 28, 2016 and was out for three weeks.
He was also out of action for the Yellow Submarines for another weeks with a thigh problem between Apr 28, 2016 and May 12, 2016.
He will later secure a move to the Old Trafford in June.
His injury problem in England began in October 24, 2016. This time around, it was knee injury which took him out of action for 38 days. He eventually returned to action on December 1, 2016. He completed the season without further injury problem.
Having started the 2017/18 season on a good note with the Red Devils, Bailley got sidelined again with a bruise on October 7, 2017, which took him out of action for three weeks. He returned to the field again on Oct 28, 2017.
His injury woes continued in the same season with an ankle injury on November 8, 2017. This time around, he was out of action for 100 days.
He played the last season without major injury. But his nemesis returned this season after having to have a knee surgery which forced him out of action from July 25, 2019, till Dec 26 – which is approximately 154 days.
Recently, he was subsitituted during Man United’s 3-1 loss to Chelsea in the FA Cap semi final after he was injured by his teammate, Harry Maguire.

Eric Bailly’s salary at Man United
26-year-old Bailly earns £4,160,000 annually at the Old Trafford – the equivalent of £80,000 per week after signing a four-year deal from Villareal. The deal which was reportedly around £30,000,000 has a further two-year option.
His net worth is reportedly around $7 million since the start of his career. It increased to $12.5 Million after he signed a new contract deal with Villarreal that was €50,000 weekly wage.
