On Thursday, police were called to the England international’s residence to perform a search. After Manchester United captain Harry Maguire got a bomb threat.
After getting the warning, a representative for the England international acknowledged that the defender took procedures to inform authorities, but he is still prepping “as normal” for his Manchester united forthcoming match on Saturday.
Maguire was a starter in United’s 4-0 loss to Liverpool on Tuesday night, and he’ll be expected to be in the heart of the defense again when they meet Arsenal on Saturday.
“Harry has received a significant threat to his family home in the last 24 hours,” according to a statement from Maguire’s spokeswoman.
“He has informed the authorities, who are investigating the situation.”
“But for now, Harry’s top concern is the protection of his relatives and others in his environment
He will continue to prepare as usual for this weekend’s match, and we will make no additional comments at this time.”
Cheshire Police are believed to have searched Maguire’s home, which he shares with his fiancee Fern Hawkins and their two children.
This season, United’s captain has made headlines for a succession of unstable performances on the pitch, and his teammates have struggled to keep up with him.
The club confirmed earlier on Thursday that Erik ten Hag, the current manager of Ajax, will be the next manager for next season.
Maguire, who joined in 2019, has a contract that extends until 2025 with an option year.

A police explosives dog was employed to conduct a precautionary search of the premises, according to Cheshire Police, who added that no evacuations were necessary.
Maguire, his fiancée, and their two children live on the property.
