The Red Devils finished the 2022/23 Premier League season on a high at the home ground, Old Trafford, unlike last season.

Fulham was given an early lead through Kenny Tete, who scored from Willian’s corner as the right-back was in acres of space with the hosts looking lazy at the back.

The visitors would have made it two when Casemiro fouled Tom Cairney inside the box but David de Gea saved Aleksandar Mitrovic’s penalty.

Manchester United actively looked for an equalizer with the youngster coming so close and hitting the crossbar after 30 minutes.

Fulham’s defense finally failed after Jadon Sancho scored an empty net for an equalizer following Fred’s press inside their box.

The first half was a chaotic one, however, the second half was better, as United played for possession and stifled Fulham’s attempts to swarm their defense on the press.

Bruno Fernandes was found by Fred with a brilliant through ball and the Portuguese dinked over Bernd Leno and gave United the lead.

The encounter was now looking in Manchester United’s way as Marcus Rashford forced two brilliant saves from Leno who kept his side in the game.

Leno was not the only one in action, Golden Gloves winner De Ge at the other end saved an effort from Fulham’s Vinicius.

Erik ten Hag’s men could not add to the lead further, they also did not allow the visitors to score as they held onto the 2-1 lead.

The win against Fulham at Old Trafford means that Manchester United finished with 75 points and above Newcastle on the table.

United has had a rough season but managed to finish above where they finished last season – a season they finished 6th.

Manchester United’s new boss Erik ten Hag can equally call this season a success for himself, as he has won them the Carabao Cup.

United have had a number of disappointing seasons since Alex Ferguson left the club, but this season they have shown prospects.

The Reds Devils under Manager Erik ten Hag have shown a good amount of fighting spirit, enthusiasm, and energy.

United have gone on to win 37 games at Old Trafford this season, after losing 4-0 at home to Brentford last year equalling their own record.

They have already won a trophy and might win another should they beat Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

With Casemiro, Fernandes, Rashford, Shaw, Varane, Martinez, and Eriksen in form, they finally look like a side to be reckoned with and they’ve got a manager who won’t let them quit.
