Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants the club to speed up its purchase of Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, in order to avoid a repeat of Harry Maguire’s prolonged transfer saga that ended up costing the club a world record fee of 80 million.

Sources have disclosed to Futballnews that the Red Devils hope to get a cut-price fee for their transfer target due to lack of interest from other clubs.

Executive Vice  Chairman, Ed Woodward is willing to offer 50 million for the English player, citing the impact of the Covid-19 on the transfer market, but the coach is hoping the board make a more realistic offer to ensure the deal gets wrapped up quickly and prevent spending the same amount of time used to convince Leicester to lower their asking price, which eventually backfired with the player only signing for the club a week to the start of the season.

The same trend of events took place with the January acquisition of   Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes, who was signed from Sporting Lisbon for an initial fee of 47 million, 24 hours to the end of the January transfer window despite the midfielder being a key transfer target.

Reports say Jadon Sancho is considered to be no 1 on Solskjaer transfer list and the limited time between the end and restart of the next season has made the club determined to complete the transfer in record time.

Premier League rivals Chelsea and Man City in pursuit of 100 million Jose Gimenez.

London club Chelsea and Manchester City are both in contention for the signature of Atletico Madrid’s Uruguay defender who is reportedly valued at 100 million.

Frank Lampard and Guardiola are reported to be fans of the defender but are reluctant to match the defender’s release clause. However, City already have a bid of  £40 million accepted for Nathan Ake who is seen as an alternative.

Chelsea however sees Jimenez, 25, as a perfect fit for the club despite his young age. Frank Lampard believes his experience on the international level and at Atletico Madrid his an upgrade to what the club currently has in its ranks.

More so, the club already has Rugider, Zouma, Fikayo Tomori, and Andreas Christensen as options, so he may need to cash in on one of them to create space for a new centre back.

Italian club Lazio are reportedly interested in the Spanish midfielder.

David Silva, 34, played his last Premier League match for Man city and will leave the club once his contract expires after City’s Champions League campaign. Report reaching Futballnews can confirm that Lazio held a meeting with Silva’s team.

But the Italian team faces competition from Valencia, and Qatar based club Al-Sadd.
