The Brazilian international was born in Belgium because that was where his father, Marcos, a retired footballer was plying his trade when he was conceived.
Being a talented lad, he has followed the footsteps of his father in playing the game. Before becoming a Manchester United player, the young Andreas started his youth career at Lommel United. From there, he linked up with the youth academy of PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands while he was only nine years.
He showed his mettle in 2011 for PSV in the so-called ‘Manchester United Premier Cup’, and many English clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool were interested in him. He made an easy choice to join the Red Devils when Alex Ferguson, the former head coach visited him personally.
He signed for United in November of 2011 and became a regular in the U18 during his first season in England, making over 20 appearances and scoring five goals. He eventually made his senior debut in the Premier League in March 2015, when he substituted Juan Mata in the 77th minute against Tottenham Hotspur while United was leading 3-0.
However, due to the competition in United’s midfield, it has been hard for the 24-year-old to break into the team. He had been sent out on loan to Granada (2016-17) and Valencia (2017-18), where he had a successful stint that eventually earned him a call up to the Brazilian national team.
While he was with Valencia, the Brazilian midfielder played 23 games in La Liga.
