Earlier today, a supposed third kit for Manchester United’s 2020/21 season was leaked online. The new kit will see United dazzle a black and white camo next season. Fans have been divided by the new kit with many claiming the new kit doesn’t represent the Red Devils.

United and footwear and apparel giants Adidas seem to have chosen the black and white to pay tribute to the Lancashire rose that was worn on the club’s shirt during the 1909 FA Cup final. The dazzle camo print which appears to be modern at first glance has been receiving mix reviews with mostly men stating it is too feminine.

While there is no actual image of a prototype kit,  self-confessed ‘kit nerd’ Jack Henderson tweeted, ”Four words: Manchester United: dazzle camo.”

It is believed the camo print has been tipped as the same or relatively similar print that will be used for the 2020/21 third kit. The kit is expected to get the same monochrome red badge and red Adidas logo design principles on the hat. With the Chevrolet sponsor logo expected to remain the same as well.

Despite its vibrant and distinctly modern look, the new funky zebra pattern is yet to be confirmed or denied by the club. Right now this is all mere speculation as nothing has been made official.

Each of United’s kits this season paid homage to the club’s history. For instance, the red home shirt referenced the 1998/99 treble. Manchester’s artsy Northern Quarter was referenced in the mosaic patterning that could be seen on the gold away kit. While the black third kit as mentioned earlier references the Lancashire rose detail.

Meanwhile, United drew 1-1 to Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday. The Red Devils are currently in fifth-place and are currently three points adrift fourth-place Chelsea. The Red Devils will travel to iPro Stadium on Thursday night to take on Derby County in the fifth round of their FA Cup tie.
