Manchester City were accused of dark art by Arsenal fans before the kick-off of the Premier League match between the two teams at Etihad Stadium on April 26, 2023.
Manchester City went into the match five points behind Arsenal with two more matches to play.
While Arsenal had been on top of the Premier League table for a long time, Manchester City had been the more experienced side in recent years.
Before the match began, a video surfaced showing the Premier League trophy with the blue ribbon being brought on the pitch by Manchester City staff.
After the clip was posted by Jan Aage Fjortoft, fans couldn’t help but talk about Manchester City’s mind games.
One fan commented, “Pep with the dark arts already.” Another fan tweeted, “Mind games but we are not scared.” Another fan tweeted, “Let the mind game commence.”
However, one of Arsenal’s fans also commented after seeing the clip by tweeting “It will backfire” Another Arsenal user tweeted “Nice of them to get ready to pass it to Arsenal”
Unfortunately it didn’t backfire because Manchester City defeated Arsenal heavily by 4-1 to reduce the point gap to two even with two more matches to play.
Manchester City dominated the first half, with Kevin De Bruyne and John Stones scoring. Arsenal failed to put Manchester City’s goalkeeper to the test in the first half.
In the second half, De Bruyne made it 3-0, with Aaron Ramsdale having no chance of making a save.
The goalkeeper felt horrible about his defenders not stopping De Bruyne’s second goal.
In the extra minutes of the second half, Erling Haaland, who assisted De Bruyne twice, scored the last goal of the match to make it 4-1.
Manchester City haven’t won the league yet because they have a history of dropping points against smaller teams.
Arsenal, on the other hand, need to win the remaining five matches to have a chance of winning the league.
Manchester City Fans Spotted Blood Gushing Out Of Riyad Mahrez’s Head
Manchester City fans spotted blood coming out of Riyad Mahrez after the win against Arsenal.
It was spotted by the camera, and there are no determinants of the cause of the incident.
However, plenty of Citizens fans were worried about the injury to his head. One fan tweeted, “Why is Riyad Mahrez bleeding?”
Another person wrote, “What is wrong with Mahrez’s head?” Mahrez came on in the 72nd minute and made little impact on the match.
The player had been dropped countless times from Premier League matches.
The Algerian had made complaints and showed how angry he is with Pep Guardiola, but the manager would rather use him more in domestic cup matches.
What’s next for the Gunners and Manchester City?
The Citizens will visit Fulham at Craven Cottage on April 30, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. While Arsenal will face its London neighbor Chelsea on May 2, 2023, at 8:00pm.
