Sergio Aguero, who is the Blues’ all-time leading striker, will be remembered for a stunning goal that clinched the domestic title in 2011-12.

On the tenth anniversary of Sergio Aguero’s spectacular Premier League title-clinching goal against Queens Park Rangers, Manchester City installed a Sergio Aguero statue outside their Etihad home.

A goal came in the 94th minute of a final-day match in which the Blues came back from two goals behind to beat Manchester United to the domestic title in spectacular fashion under Roberto Mancini’s guidance.

Over the course of ten unforgettable years in English football, Aguero would go on to become the club’s all-time leading scorer, and a permanent memorial to his accomplishments has now been erected alongside monuments to former team-mates Vincent Kompany and David Silva.

The Argentine striker, who joined City from Atletico Madrid in 2011, scored 260 goals in 390 games for the Blues. None were more remarkable than the one recorded after 93 minutes and 20 seconds of a match against QPR, which gave Sheikh Mansour his first Premier League title.

Aguero won 15 major awards during his time at the Etihad Stadium, including five Premier League titles, one FA Cup, and six League Cups.

“Sergio Aguero’s impact on Manchester City at a landmark age for the club cannot be overstated,” City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said on the club’s official website of the modern-day superstar’s legacy.

He is without a doubt one of the finest players in the game’s history. Sergio’s legacy and impact at Manchester City go far beyond the iconic 93:20 goal that secured the Club’s first league title in 44 years, as his record of 260 goals for the Club demonstrates.

Andy Scott, an award-winning sculptor, created the Aguero figure “from hundreds of welded pieces of galvanized steel.”

The finished product will be “illuminated with blue-tinted lights” at night to make it look even more dramatic, according to city. “It’s been an honor to collaborate on a project that means so much to Manchester City fans all over the world in honor of such a great player in this football club’s history,” Scott said.

I had no illusions about how significant this was to the club, the supporters, and Sergio himself, and I hope that everyone who sees it feels joy and happiness. “

The statue is located on the east side of the Etihad Stadium and is expected to draw a lot of attention in the following weeks, months, and years, especially since City’s next home game is against Aston Villa on May 22, as the season comes to a close.
