Manchester City are ready to move Rodri to the high-earning cadre of players in the star-studded squad following his standout performances for the club.
Regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world, the Spanish midfielder’s contract with City saw him pocket an average weekly wage of £180,000.
Now, the figure is likely to be doubled to over £300,000 as City plan to renew terms with the midfield sensation and review his pay, as per Transfer Live.
The Madrid-born prolific midfielder joined Manchester City in 2019 from Atletico Madrid for £61.3m – a then club record transfer fee for City.
He penned down a five-year contract. The Spain international would have run out of his contract with Manchester City this season but he had signed a new five-year deal with the club in 2022 to remain at Etihad till 2027.
According to Transfer Live, Rodri earned £180,000 weekly as per his current deal with the club but could now witness a 100% increase in his wages if he agrees another new terms with the club.
