Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji and his wife Melanie Windler sent a warm Easter greeting to his teeming fans.
Sharing a cool shot of him, Windler, and their two children, Manuel Akanji wrote, “wishing you all a happy Easter.”
The Neftenbach-born Swiss star, is a top and prolific defender plying his trade with Premier League side Manchester City.
He also plays as a defender for the Swiss national team and is regarded as one of the best defenders in Europe.
Akanji nursed his football career in Switzerland at a very tender age. He played for FC Wiesendangen youth academy in 2004 before moving to Winterthur youth academy in 2007.
In 2013, he made his first senior club career appearance for Winterthur II before joining the main team a year later.
He played for only one year with the club and made 35 appearances with one goal before he joined Basel in 2015, where he made 42 appearances, scoring 5 goals after three years at the club.
Manuel Akanji began to emerge into the limblights when he joined Borussia Dortmund in 2018. He was rated as one of the best defenders in Bundesliga.
