Man Utd supporters have been criticizing the Glazers Family for the past two seasons but one of the reasons for doing so hit an all-time high on Friday, June 24, 2022, as United paid its owners an £11m dividend with a majority of it going to the Glazers Family.

Note that during the 2021/22 season, the Glazers Family received £8 million of a £10.7m dividend and will get another dividend close to that amount this year.

This is coming after it was announced that the debts at Old Trafford have increased to £500m.

Fans have criticized the Glazers for continuing to drain Man Utd of funds at a time when, in addition to paying off that enormous debt, considerable investments are needed in the team’s infrastructure and playing squad.

The Manchester Evening News reports that a number of supporters are already preparing to demonstrate their rage before Ten Hag’s first home game next month as their dissatisfaction grows. The Dutch manager’s preseason match against Rayo Vallecano will come up on July 13 and before the game, a handful of supporters are preparing to demonstrate against the Glazer ownership.

Manchester United’s chief executive officer Richard Arnold has urged supporters to support Ten Hag by setting aside their frustrations with the Glazers.

“Football is a game of passion and we fully respect the fans’ right to make their feelings known, as long as this remains legal and peaceful at all times,” Arnold said. “I would very much hope that all fans within Old Trafford approach next season with renewed optimism and confidence as we look forward to a fresh start under Erik ten Hag.

“We have the best fans in the world and when Old Trafford is at its loudest, we have a significant advantage against our opponents. I hope this unrivaled passion will be used to support the team and the new manager as we start this exciting new chapter together.”

Manchester United are yet to make a summer signing and some of their players are leaving the squad. However, with the new manager Erik ten Hag, some signings will be made and it’s just a matter of time. Erik ten Hag has listed some players like Ajax striker Antony, Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt and Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong as his transfer targets this summer.
