After missing the international break with the English national team, Manchester City winger, Raheem Sterling is likely to be fit to face Arsenal this weekend.
Sterling withdrew from the England squad during the international break after suffering from a hamstring injury. The Manchester City forward seems to be recovering well.
City also have another injury headache to face as Kevin De Bruyne’s fitness will have to be monitored this week. The Belgian returned to action late last season after several injuries to win the assist of the season.
Raheem Sterling is a major boost for Man City
Since the absence of Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus due to injuries, Sterling has been used as a false nine by Pep Guardiola. The Citizens continue to struggle in the absence of their two poachers.
This will be a relief to Guardiola, as the 25-year-old will continue at center-forward to deputize for the long-term injured Agüero and Jesus.
He could however have another headache to face with De Bruyne. The midfielder was sent home by Belgium on Monday as a precaution.
This was to help Guardiola call on his two most important senior players. They will have to be monitored this week to know their level of porogress.
Sterling is Man City’s top scorer this season, scoring three goals in five games in the league and EFL Cup, with two assists as well.
City has only been able to gather four points from the first three Premier League games. The last time they won was at the Molineux against Wolves, which was their league opener.
Other Man City injury news
Meanwhile, Aguero, Phil Foden, Ilkay Gundogan, and John Stone have resumed training. But their level of fitness has not been ascertained now.
