Lyon Star Memphis Depay has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Barcelona as he edges closer to a reunion with former Holland head coach Ronald Koeman.

According to Sky Sports’ Fabrizio Romano, Memphis Depay is now edging closer to completing a transfer to the Catalan giants after agreeing on personal terms on Wednesday.

He reports that both clubs are now completing a deal for the 26-year-old while Barcelona continues their pursuit for his compatriot Giorgini Wijnaldum.

Last month, while speaking about a potential move away from Olympique Lyon, Depay revealed: “I do not see the future, I do not know if I’ll do the full season here. I’ve been here for four years, and I became a captain.

“After you’ve to look at your career, there is no Champions League. At the moment, I do not know.”

The Barcelona target has found new light with Lyon after his failed stint with Manchester United in the Premier League.

He failed to make his mark with the Reds as he managed only seven goals in 53 appearances before being shipped out to Lyon.

Former Netherlands boss, and new Barcelona head coach Ronald Koeman, has outlined Depay as a potential replacement for Luis Suarez, who is expected to be axed this summer.

It’s reported that he views the Lyon man as a better alternative to Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez, who has been a long-time target of the club.

Depay has scored 57 goals in 139 appearances since his move to Lyon, as he put his past behind him to become one of the most exciting forwards in world football.

Depay also recently confirmed Barcelona’s interest, after Netherlands’ 1-0 loss to Italy in the UEFA Nations League on Monday night.

Speaking to Dutch station NOS, Depay said: “Let’s see what happens.

“Tomorrow I will speak with Olympique Lyon. I know there is interest, but I don’t want to say much more, mainly because I haven’t spoken much to my agent.”
