England international and Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has rated Chelsea star, Victor Moses, above Barcelona icon Lionel Messi; he described Moses as the toughest player he has ever played against.

The 24-year-old Manchester United star started his football career at Southampton in 2012 before he was transferred to Manchester United for £30 million, a then world-record transfer fee for a teenager.

Since Shaw joined Manchester United in 2014, he has made 132 appearances for the club and has scored a goal.

He has played against the biggest names in the game including 6 times world best Lionel Messi and 5 times world best Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, when Luke Shaw was asked who his toughest opponent has been so far in his football career, he pointed to ‘out of favour’ Chelsea versatile footballer, Victor Moses, who is now on loan at Inter Milan.

The England national team defender said though he has played against all the names that should easily come to mind, he never forgets the first time he faced Victor Moses 7 years ago.

He said he was playing for Southampton when he played against the Nigeria International and that was one of his hardest games.

“People always think I’m joking, but one of my hardest games ever was against Victor Moses when I was coming in as a 17-year-old at Southampton”, Luke Shaw told Manchester United official website.

“Maybe because I was so young. He [Victor Moses] was really quick, direct, strong and that was a challenge for me.

“I’ve played against the likes of Gareth Bale, Messi and [Eden] Hazard, and they were all so good, but I always remember Victor Moses as a really tough opponent as well.”

Victor Moses had his best time at Chelsea under Antonio Conte during the club’s 2016-2017 title-winning season. The 29-year-old footballer played a vital role to ensure that the club won the Premier League and became FA Cup runner up that season. He also won for himself PFA Fans’ Premier League Player of the Month of November 2016.

Before and beyond that season, the Chelsea star has been mostly loaned from Liverpool to Stoke City, from West Ham back to Chelsea, from there to Fenerbahçe and now to Inter Milan.
