However, he’s currently with Belgium for the Nations League competition and his coach Roberto Martinez has reacted to the recent transfer rumors about Lukaku.

According to Martinez, Lukaku’s future is in his hands, and is ready to make the right decision for himself. He added that Lukaku wants to feel important and needed in any team he plays for but Chelsea is not giving him that.

Lukaku is currently injured and has missed some games in the Nations League competition but is still linked with a move away from Chelsea. Among the teams that have reached out to the striker, his mind is set on returning to Inter Milan where he had an amazing season before joining Chelsea.

Lukaku’s lawyer is also looking into a possible move back to Italy for the Belgian. Roberto Martinez believes that going back to Inter Milan will be a good decision for Lukaku and it will help boost his career.

While speaking during an interview, Roberto Martinez said; “He wants to be important and enjoy his football. I’m sure the decision in the summer will be the right one.

“In Belgium we are quite relaxed with Romelu’s situation. I know it is a big topic, but at the moment he is trying to recover from the injury and that’s the only thing he has in his mind.

“If he stays at Chelsea it will be for the right reasons. If he’s moving away it will be because everyone agrees to it. “Romelu is a player I know very well. I managed him at club level (at Everton) at a very young age.

“He was 19 and had a very different position than he has now. Now he’s a player who is very mature and very clear what he wants.”

Lukaku had a good season at Inter Milan as he helped the Italian club to win the Serie A title. But when he returned to Chelsea, he wasn’t able to deliver goals for the Blues as expected.

The Belgian ended up scoring 15 goals in 44 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions since he joined the club in August 2021. Multiple sources have revealed that Chelsea will accept a loan deal for Lukaku but will charge a fee up to €25m if any offer comes in.
