Luis Suarez is set to reunite with Lionel Messi at Inter Miami CF as he has reached agreement with the Florida-based club.
According to ESPN, Luis Suarez has agreed to join Inter Miami from Gremio despite not running out his contract with the Brazilian club.
Luis Suarez joined Gremio on December 2022 on a two-year contract but will now leave the club with a year remaining on his deal. The current Brazilian Serie A season will end in December 2023. Gremio manager Renato Gaucho confirmed Suarez will leave the club at the end of the season.
The club have agreed to part ways with the Uruguayan following reports of interest from Inter Miami. According to reports, Suarez has agreed a one-year deal with Inter Miami with an option of a one-year extension.
His move to the MLS side will see him become the third former Barcelona player to join the club after Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets joined in the summer.
Suárez is Uruguay’s all-time top scorer with 68 goals in 137 appearances for La Celeste. He is also Grêmio’s leading scorer this season, with 10 goals and 10 assists in 31 league games.
Suárez spent six seasons playing alongside that trio at Camp Nou from 2014 to 2020, winning four Spanish La Liga titles and the 2015 UEFA Champions League.
