Manchester United legend, David De Gea, has blasted Luis Rubiales for refusing to resign as Spanish Football President after 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup scandal

Taking to his social media handle, David De Gea dropped a four-word reaction to Luis Rubiales’ refusal to resign as Spanish Football President.

He wrote in Spanish, “my ears are bleeding.”

Luis Rubiales raised eyebrows when he dropped a bombshell decision on Friday, 26 August 2023 to the shock of Spanish football fans following his indecorous World Cup kiss on Jenni Hermoso.

Addressing a high-profile emergency meeting of Spanish football officials, Rubiales defied the odds and grandstand on his earlier position that he is not guilty of any wrongdoing.

In what appeared more as rant, Rubiales blasted false feminism for attempting a ‘social murder.’

He maintained he is not guilty and will not resign as Spain football Chief despite calls from various quarters that he should honorably resign following the World Cup scandal.

In a revolting and high-powered address toned with strong emotions, Rubiales said he has been wrongly targeted and that Jenni Hermoso consented to the kiss.

“Do you think this is so serious that I should go, after the best management in the history of Spanish football?

“Let me tell you: I’m not going to resign. I’m not going to resign. I’m not going to resign.”

Luis Rubiales’ decision has further deepened the crisis with reports emerging the Spanish government are ready to begin prosecutions and bring him to book since he has refused to resign.

We reported earlier FIFA have already begun investigations on Rubiales for alleged ‘offensive behavior’ due to the scandalous World Cup kiss.

Laliga President, Javier Tebas, has also vented his spleen on Rubiales, blasting him for his misogynistic gesture and ‘lists of women who have been aggrieved’ with his handling of women’s football.

Real Betis and Spain national team forward Borja Iglesias has already announced he has quit Spain national team until Luis Rubiales is punished.

Hermoso debunks Rubiales’ claim she consented to the kiss

Hermoso, who is the center of the row, revealed she was uncomfortable with Luis Rubiales’ kiss before the latter announced he will not resign.

Following Rubiales’ decision not to resign, Hermoso took to social media again to make stunning revelations about the kiss scandal.

According to her, she had in no time consented to the kiss as Luis Rubiales claimed and felt disrespected by the incident.

Hermoso also revealed the Spanish FA had pressured her and her teammates not to talk about the incident.

”The situation shocked me given the celebrations that were taking place at the moment, and with the passage of time and after delving a little deeper into those initial feelings, I feel the need to report this incident because I believe that no person, in any work, sports or social setting should be a victim of these types of non-consensual behaviours.

”I felt vulnerable and a victim of an impulse-driven, sexist, out of place act without any consent on my part.

‘Simply put, I was not respected.’

‘I feel obliged to report that Mr Luis Rubiales’ words explaining the unfortunate incident are categorically false and part of the manipulative culture that he himself has generated.

”I want to make it clear that at no time did the conversation wo which Mr Luis Rubiales refers to in his address take place, and, above all, was his kiss ever consensual.

”I want to reiterate as I did before that I did not like this incident,” Hermoso wrote on social media.

Luis Rubiales emerged as Spanish Football President in 2018. Under his watch, Spain won the 2023 UEFA Nations League and the recent FIFA Women’s World Cup trophy.

However, his strides has been eroded with the recent allegations. Following his decision not to resign, he will be submerged in a seething legal tussle with Spanish authorities to clear his name.
