Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti has claimed that Nigeria international Victor Osimhen will be back for the second leg against AC Milan in the Champions League.

Spalletti insisted that Osimhen will be back to help his teammates overturn a 1-0 deficit against AC Milan and also help them with the goal scoring issue.

Napoli’s top scorer, who had scored 21 goals in 24 appearances this season, missed the 1-0 defeat against AC Milan in the Champions League on April 12, 2023, at San Siro due to a groin injury.

Without Osimhen, Napoli had only won one match out of three. Also in the Champions League, Napoli had more shots on target, but it was not enough to get the equalizer at San Siro.

The club missed his aerial ability and power on the ball; he is the kind of striker that you can count on to score a lot of goals in a season.

Osimhen’s absence is damaging at this stage of the season; it will be difficult for them to continue winning matches without the Nigerian striker.

However, his return will be an even bigger boost for the squad.

Moreover, in the return leg, Napoli will be without one of their first-team players. Napoli midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, who pushed AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez, received a red card which means he won’t be available for the return leg.

Defender Kim Min Jae will also miss the second leg after receiving a yellow card late in the match. Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti will take the match with everything he has.

A win over AC Milan in the second leg will be a record-breaking season for Napoli because they have never reached a Champions League semi-final before.

The Napoli side are likely to face Inter Milan in the semi-finals of the Champions League if they go through.

The manager wants to win the Champions League and every other title at his disposal. But he needs to learn how to win matches without some key players.

Napoli need just four matches to win the Scudetto, but adding the Champions League to the trophy cabinet will be a thing of joy for the Napoli fans.

Victor Osimhen’s Achievement As A Player

He was the top scorer in the U-17 World Cup and African Nations Cup qualifiers.

The striker won the U-23 African Nations Cup with his national team, Nigeria, in 2015.
