After just nine minutes in the FA Cup tie with Everton James Milner appaeared to be injured as he limped off the field.

Liverpool’s injury crisis deepens with SEVEN now sidelined. Jurgen Klopp injury headache has taken a new spiral after James Milner was shockingly put down and forced to limp off  just after nine minutes into the FA Cup third round clash with Everton.

The 34-year-old  appeared to have picked up a hamstring injury after attempting to deny Theo Walcott a shot in the opening stages. As a result, this will leave  Klopp with little options at left-back, although first choice Andy Robertson is available to step in. Klopp however, opted for 19-year-old Yasser Larouci  to replace Milner.  Larouci, made his Reds debut in the Merseyside derby at Anfield.

With Milner’s unexpected set-back,  the Premier League leaders  now have up to seven players sidelined. With the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Rhian Brewster returning, after a short spell on the sidelines this is still not enough to boost the Reds defensive side.

Klopp is hopeful for a near future comeback of defensive duo Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren for next weekend’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur. If the duo are able to return in time this will be good news for the Reds Boss as this will allow for current centre-back Joe Gomez to act as Robertson’s cover.

Attacking midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri is also said to be returning for the Premier League clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Shaqiri has been link with a move away from Anfield in recent times and it is uncertain if he will start against the Spurs. Liverpool are looking to continue their unbeaten record this term. This will  see them at the top of the table by 13 points with a game in hand.

Fabinho, happens to be another casualty, as the Reds player has been out since November with an ankle injury. Fabinho is said to be in line for a return before the end of January.

Naby Keita has been absence from the scenes for sometime due to  a groin problem but is reportedly set to make a return sometime this month.  Nathaniel Clyne’s cruciate knee ligament injury from pre-season will see the lad set for a long spell on the sidelines as he is expected to be out  long term.
