Liverpool has the unwanted record of the first club to win the league outside of the normal English top-flight calendar due to the Covid-19 pandemic break, which made it impossible to conclude at the scheduled calendar month.
However, this did not stop the eventual winner Liverpool from lifting their first EPL title since 30 years, records were equaled, and new ones were set by the title-winning team.
Liverpool fell short of matching Man city’s 100 points milestone in the 2017/2018 season, as they finished with 99 points. The 2019/2020 EPL season was a memorable one for Liverpool on so many grounds, looking at some of the records that were set.
Biggest lead at the top
Liverpool set a new record of the team with the biggest points gap in the English Premier League history with a 25-point lead this season the highest ever achieved.
Most home win on a stretch.
Liverpool’s 3-2 win against at home to West Ham United was the 21st game they had won in a row, coupled with the fact that Anfield was Liverpool’s fortress in the 2019/2020 season as they won 21 games in a row to overtake Man City’s record of 20 games set in 2011/2012 season.
The most point earned in 38 matches.
Liverpool set a new top-flight record for the highest numbers of points won by a team in 38 EPL games as they gathered 110 points after their win against Newcastle. The previous record 102 was held by Manchester City and Chelsea.
The fastest team to get 30 wins
A 3-1 victory over Brighton gave Liverpool their 30th victory of the season, which made them the fastest team to achieve 30 wins from just 34 games.

Liverpool was confirmed the title winner after Chelsea defeated Man city 2-1 as a new record was set, becoming the fastest team to win the EPL title with seven games to spare. Manchester United had the previous record for five games when they won the 2000/01 title and Manchester City in 2017/18.
The most victories in a season.
With their victory over Newcastle on the last day of the season, Liverpool equaled Man City’s 32 wins in 2017/18 and 2018/2019 to become the team with most victories in a season.
