    Liverpool vs Manchester City will be at Anfield Stadium in the Premier League matchday ten on Sunday 16th of October, 2022, by 4:30 pm.

    The two dominant teams in the table are now separated by a 13-point gap after the Reds lost 3-2 to Arsenal last weekend and City defeated Southampton 4-0.

    Liverpool welcome Man City to Anfield with their unbeaten home record for 2022–23 still intact. Klopp’s team has now gone 27 top-flight games without suffering a loss at their Merseyside headquarters.

    Liverpool now seeks to improve on their meager 10th-place occupation in the Premier League table.

    The Premier League title campaign has essentially always been a two-horse contest between Liverpool and Man City over the previous five years, but Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has already acknowledged that Sunday’s match will not determine the outcome of the title for his team this time around.

    Liverpool was left to regret several questionable officiating decisions in last week’s 3-2 loss to the Gunners, but the injured Reds were a different kettle of fish for Rangers to manage in the Champions League as Arsenal and Man City continue to cruise into the sunset.

    The Premier League winners can still proudly point to a 22-game undefeated road streak, one of which saw City and Liverpool tie 2-2 at Anfield last season before playing out a similar deadlock at the Etihad, although Klopp defeated Guardiola in the Community Shield in July.

    Liverpool vs Manchester City Head-to-Head:

    Liverpool has prevailed over Manchester City 107 times while falling short 58 times. They have played each other 222 times, with 56 of the games ending in draws.

    Team News:

    In preparation for Sunday’s crucial match, Anfield’s medical center is well-stocked. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Luis Diaz, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, and Naby Keita are still out for Liverpool, but Curtis Jones has a chance to play.

    In the Champions League victory over Rangers, Andy Robertson was able to enter the game off the bench. He is now ready to take Kostas Tsimikas’ spot at left-back, with Joe Gomez filling in for Alexander-Arnold on the other flank.

    For the champions’ visit, Klopp is once again torn between playing a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1 formation, but none of Salah, Nunez, Firmino, or Diogo Jota who assisted all of Salah’s goals in midweek deserve to be benched.

    However, the Liverpool manager may finally choose for the 4-3-3 because of concerns that his midfield crop would be overrun, with Firmino maybe being the unfortunate one to occupy a position on the bench.

    Guardiola has confirmed that Erling Braut Haaland will be good to lead the line despite being rested as a precaution in midweek. The Man City medical facility is far from being as crowded as Liverpool’s.

    Aymeric Laporte is likely to leave the defense as Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake return along with Manuel Akanji and Joao Cancelo, but the game will come too soon for the trio of John Stones, Kalvin Phillips, and Kyle Walker.

    Ilkay Gundogan might be dropped to the bench if Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva are recalled to the starting lineup unless Pep Guardiola decides to bench Jack Grealish and play Silva in a more advanced position.

    Liverpool’s probable lineup;

    Alisson, Gomez, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago, Salah, Nunez, and Jota.

    Man City’s probable lineup;

    Ederson, Cancelo, Akanji, Dias, Ake; Silva, Rodri, De Bruyne; Foden, Haaland, and Grealish.

    Liverpool vs Manchester City Prediction;

    Goals are almost always certain in a battle of the titans, and if Liverpool wants to keep their illustrious unbeaten streak at Anfield, they will need to make up for their defensive shortcomings with an effective offense.

    We can imagine the Reds losing in another five-goal thriller as the distance between the two clubs extends even further.

    A rested Haaland, however, would strike fear into the hearts of any defence, and Man City is always a tough beast to contend with after a loss.

    We predict Manchester City will outperform Liverpool by a score of 4 to 1.
