Match: Liverpool v Leicester City (Premier League)
Venue: Anfield
Date & Time: Sunday, November 22 (20:15)

Liverpool v Leicester City is a fixture to watch tonight. It is a battle between two teams that have proven from the beginning of the 2020-2021 season that they are Premier League title contenders. This is a match of two coaches, Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp and Leicester’s Brendan Rodgers, who have proven over the years that they understand the league perfectly.

In today’s game, the pressure is on both teams. It is on Liverpool because they are going into the match as Premier League reigning champions that won’t have some of their best players on parade. Recall that Liverpool are currently without their best defenders: Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez who are all out with different degrees of injuries.

Besides those household names in the game, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Trent Alexander-Arnold are still battling to recover from their injuries. To make matters worse, the club’s main forward, Mohamed Salah, is still battling to recover from coronavirus infection.

This means that Jurgen Klopp will face an in-form Leicester with a depleted first team. Though that could be so scary, the match will be another opportunity for the German tactician to show that he is a legend in the game of tactics by winning over Leicester with a depleted team.

On the other hand, Leicester City that also have a bucket full of injured players know that Tottenham Hotspurs are currently sitting on top of the league table with 20 points while they are currently on 18 points. Hence, all they need to do is to get the maximum three points at Anfield tonight to return to the summit of the league table.

With the current state of Liverpool’s depleted squad, Leicester City know that it is a golden opportunity for them to beat the reigning Premier League champions tonight. A win in the game will take Leicester City to the first spot on the league table with 21 points.

Currently, Leicester City have won 6 league matches and lost two in 8 games. While Liverpool have won 5 league matches, drawn two, and lost one in 8 games. The league champions are currently sitting in the 4th spot with 17 points. A win in the match will take them to the second spot with equaled points with Tottenham. But Spurs will remain top due to superior goals difference.
