After a grueling Copa America 2024, Lionel Messi is making the best out of his break as he prepares to return to action soon with Inter Miami.
The Barcelona legend, who led Argentina to a third international trophy in three years, was seen unwinding with his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, and his family recently.
Taking to social media, the Inter Miami sensation entertained his 505 million followers on Instagram with a six-slide photo splash. The footage captured the footballer’s luxurious summertime vacation with the lovely family.
Antonela Roccuzzo was on her swimsuit while Messi was down to his black shorts. The loved-up couple stood for a pose from a yacht before sharing moments with their three children, Thiago, Matteo, and Ciro.
Note that Messi is not only on a break but is also recovering from an ankle injury he picked up during the Copa America final clash against Colombia. The footballer was down to tears when a bad pitch at the Hard Rock Stadium in the Copa America 2024 final saw him twist his ankle and pick up a serious ankle injury.
Meanwhile, the MLS is on a temporary break due to the ongoing Leagues Cup tournament, but Messi would have been in action for Inter Miami in the North American club competition if not for the injury. The iconic footballer led the MLS side to triumph in the last edition of the competition.
While watching action from the sidelines, the footballer took out his family for the luxury vacation. It is the second time Messi has taken his family for an extravagant break within the last few weeks.
In June 2024, the 38-year-old former PSG attacker was seen on a yacht with Antonela Roccuzzo, alongside his children. He was in the company of South American pal and Inter Miami teammate Luis Suarez. The two footballers went to soak up the sun with their families before the 2024 Copa America tournament.
Lionel Messi family
Away from his footballing heroics, Messi is a father and husband. The Inter Miami playmaker is married to Antonela Roccuzzo. Roccuzzo hails from Messi’s birthplace Rosario.
The professional dentist and model is said to be the footballer’s childhood sweetheart and they have been together since they were kids. However, it took over a decade before they took nuptial vows as husband and wife.
Messi married Roccuzzo in 2017 after years of friendship. Meanwhile, they had welcomed their first and second child before the marriage. The couple’s first child Thiago was born in 2012. Thiago was followed by Matteo in 2015. Their last child, Ciro, was born in 2018, a year after their marriage.
The three children, who are all boys, have been a source of the family’s joy, completing Messi’s private life off the field.
Speaking about his children, Messi confessed the presence of Thiago, Matteo, and Ciro, have shaped his life and changed his worldview.
“You grow and you learn. You gather experience in all aspects of life, on and off the field. But, as a human being, having three children changed my perspective on life, my way of thinking and it also helped me grow,” he said. See our other content on Lionel Messi’s family HERE.
