Lionel Messi has narrated his struggles in his two years at PSG after leaving the club to join Inter Mami in the MLS.

Before joining Argentina in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Lionel Messi said he was happy at PSG. His first season with the club turned out to be a nightmare as he struggled to adapt to the Ligue.

In his second season, Messi picked up his goal-scoring boots and was banging goals and delivering assists for the club.

He was in high spirits ahead of the 2022 World Cup with hopes he will renew his deal at the club.

However, behind the gloss of a glittering second season with the club, Lionel Messi was struggling to find his footing and adjust to life as per his recent interview.

With interest from Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia and Barcelona, Lionel Messi made a surprised switch to the MLS, joining Inter Miami on a four year deal.

According to reports, Lionel Messi did not have an easy going with his life at Parc des Princes. It had been claimed that he and his family struggled to fluently speak French. PSG organized private lessons for him, his wife and children. Nevertheless, they still struggled to adapt to the new language.

It was also claimed that Messi and his young family also missed the weather of the Catalan capital as Paris has a cooler climate with more rain.

Messi had to live close to his Argentina teammates, Angel di Marai and Leandro Paredes as he tried to adjust to life in the French capital.

In his interview with Catalan media outlets Mundo Deportivo and Diario Sport on Wednesday, Messi revealed he struggled to keep abreast with his family, especially being close to his children whom he missed entirely at school.

“These were two years [PSG] in which I was not happy,” Messi explained. “I did not enjoy myself, and that affected my family life, I missed a lot of my children’s lives at school.”

Messi revealed he snubbed the move to Saudi Arabia even with the mega cash offer because he wants to experience a more calm lifestyle with his family while continuing in his career.

Messi will become the highest-paid MLS player after signing a four year contract with Inter Miami worth £54million every year.

He has a multi-million dollar property in Miami and will move in with his family to start a new chapter in his career in the MLS.
