Lionel Messi risked hurting his importance at Paris Saint Germain after he sang an anti-France song following Argentina’s victory at the FIFA World Cup final in Qatar.

Lionel Messi alongside Argentina players were signing the “France are Dead” anthem during their celebration on Thursday night, 23rd of March, 2023.

Last year’s FIFA World Cup was won by a South American team, which defeated France in the final.

Despite a 2-0 advantage, the game went to penalties, thanks to a hat trick by Kylian Mbappe. But Argentina ultimately prevailed 4-2.

Lionel Scaloni’s squad was back in action on Thursday night as they hosted Panama in Buenos Aires.

It was an emotional night in South America, and the supporters were in excellent voice as they hailed their heroes before the game.

The 35-year-old Argentine playmaker seemed emotional as the Argentine crowd cheered their side on as they took the field for the first time since their historic victory over France and the fans may have hoped for more.

Even though their team was playing a team rated 61st in the world, players from Argentina rejoiced in front of their fans after Thursday’s victory over Panama.

The unexpected happened when Lionel Messi and his teammates started singing the anti-France anthem.

Thiago Almada and Lionel Messi scored for Argentina as they edged over Panama 2-0 at Estadio Monumental in front of an ecstatic crowd of over 80,000.

They all stayed on the field to party with the fans after the game ended, including players, coaches, and family members.

Yet, in one song, they delivered an anthem that was particularly harsh to France.

It looked like Messi had joined in with the rest of the Argentina squad in a viral video that has now gone global.

What was originally written in French was translated to English as “A minute of silence for France, they are dead.”

The fans at PSG, where Messi is still presently playing, and the rest of his French-based colleagues might not like such a song.

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner is set to become a free agent this summer and was taunted by some Paris Saint-Germain supporters after the team’s loss to Rennes on Sunday, 19th of March, 2023.

Meanwhile, Emi Martinez appeared to ridicule Mbappe by putting up a baby doll with Mbappe’s face on it during Argentina’s trophy ceremony, sparking a conflict between the two teams after the final.

The Aston Villa goalkeeper made headlines for more than just his Golden Glove performance. In February 2022, he expressed contrition for the event, but by June, he was up to the same tricks with the World Cup trophy.

Each player was given a copy of the World Cup trophy, and they marched around the stadium to express their gratitude to the fans. Apparently, some of the Panamanian players joined in and congratulated the Argentine team as well.
