Lionel Messi, Karim Benzema, Kylian Mbappe, and Erling Haaland are among the top attackers included in the 2022 FIFA FIFPFO men’s World XI that was announced on Monday, 27th of February, 2023.

    FIFA FIFPFO

FIFPRO was established in 2005 and, as determined by professional players, honors the year’s top achievements as part of The Best FIFA awards.

Despite absentees, the night of the award in Paris saw the selection of an unquestionably skilled and endlessly star-studded lineup that included four active Premier League football players.

The World XI was announced on Monday, February 27, during The Best FIFA awards presentation ceremony. The World XI is chosen by the players, based on performances between 8 August 2021 and 18 December 2022.

18,640 players submitted entries for the 2022 Men’s World XI. Participants from 68 different countries cast their votes.

Goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, and strikers were among the positions in which football players were asked to select the three players who, in their opinion, stood out the most.

    Lionel Messi

The Argentine great, Lionel Messi who finally won a World Cup winners medal last year, is without a doubt the team’s highlight addition.

The forward is more than deserving of inclusion based on his performances for club side Paris Saint-Germain as well as in Qatar.

Kylian Mbappe, Messi’s club member and a star for France, receives a spot due to his spectacular goal-scoring performances for Les Bleus and club side Paris Saint Germain, despite being on the losing side in Qatar.

Achraf Hakimi, another World Cup great, is also listed among the honorees.

Many of Real Madrid’s Champions League champions have also demonstrated enough to earn a spot in the starting lineup.

The trio of Karim Benzema, Thibaut Courtois, and Luka Modric all contributed to the Spanish powerhouses winning their 14th European championship and yet another La Liga championship.

Casemiro, a former teammate, also earned a spot in the lineup after contributing significantly, and he hopes to do similarly for Manchester United.

After helping the Red Devils win the Carabao Cup at Wembley Stadium, on Sunday, 26th of February, 2023, he is undoubtedly off to a terrific start.

There is still plenty of room for Premier League players. Virgil van Dijk of Liverpool and the Manchester City trio of Kevin De Bruyne, Erling Haaland, and Joao Cancelo on loan are also recognized.

De Bruyne was chosen for a third year in a row as Casemiro won another trophy 24 hours after winning the Carabao Cup with United at Wembley.

Moreover, Cristiano Ronaldo, a five-time winner of the Ballon d’Or, who joined Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia following the Qatar 2022 World Cup, was not included.
