Inter Miami conceded in the 13th minute as they faced Charlotte FC in the final match of the season at the Bank of America Stadium.
Charlotte FC’s Kerwin Vargas scored the opening goal of the match which saw the hosts beat Inter Miami whom they faced for the second time in four days.
Argentine skipper leveled the scores to get Inter Miami back into the game early in the second half but it was called back for offside.
The Argentine failed to replicate his success in the COMENBOL World Cup qualifier that saw him overtake Luis Suarez as the highest goalscorer.
The Argentine bagged a brace against Peru which saw him get 31 goals in the qualifiers and surpassed Suarez who’s on 29 goals.
He failed to do that against Charlotte FC and this is coming on the same day Cristiano Ronaldo scored a spectacular free-kick to ensure Al-Nassr beat Damk FC in the Saudi Pro League.

The win against Inter Miami means Charlotte FC will move on to the MLS postseason, while Lionel Messi and co will miss out.
Vargas’ early goal was very important for the hosts as they previously drew with Inter Miami in South Florida earlier in the week.
Vargas made sure that Charlotte immediately seized control of the rematch, giving his side an early lift.
Messi tried his best to lift the spirit of the MLS side in the second half after a quiet first half but it was not enough for the side.
