The transfer speculation surrounding the future of Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi won’t be ending anytime soon. Because he just bought a new house on the other side of the world.
This is following the latest report that says the world footballer of the year has bought a penthouse apartment close to Inter’s headquarters in Milan.
Since Messi can decide to walk out from Barcelona based on the agreement on his contract that remains one year, the summer saga will continue.
Initially, it was his father, Jorge, who reportedly bought a home in the city for economic reasons as he will be getting some tax relief unlike in Spain.
SportMediaset reported that the Argentina international bought an apartment in Milan, close to his father Jorge. This according to the Italia media is because of an exclusive sale in the Porta Nuova district.
Is Lionel Messi indirectly bidding Barcelona goodbye?
Although Josep Bartomeu, Barca’s president had insisted that the Argentine will end his football career with the club, there has not been resumption of negotiation as the Catalan club is willing to offer their talisman a new deal.
If the recent rumour is anything to go by, Messi could make a move to Inter that is already in the semi-final of the Europa League and will also be in next year’s Champions League after finishing second in the Italian Serie A.
According to a well-informed source, La Pulce invested immediately after his father became a homeowner in Milan.
La Gazzetta dello Sport had reported that Messi’s father, Jorge has also obtained residency in Milan, for fiscal reasons.
Can Messi lead Barcelona to success in the Champions League?
Since Barcelona is currently in the Champions League after beating Napoli 4-2 on aggregate in the last 16, Messi might want to see where he would lead the team to in this season’s competition.
This would be a successful season as well if Messi could lift the trophy for the fifth time and the first time as the captain.
To do that, Barcelona will have to overcome firing Bayern Munich in the quareter-finals then see what lies ahead of them.
