The race for out-of-favour Manchester United winger Mason Greenwood is gathering momentum after his standout six-month shift with Getafe.

The 22-year-old is set for a career away from Old Trafford after his terrific loan spell with Getafe in the Spanish top flight.

Futballnews understands Manchester United are open to his exit on a permanent, not another loan deal. Several clubs have been linked to Greenwood following his impressive loan spell with the Azulones.

Serie A giants Juventus are leading the race, having followed up the player after his return from 18-month exile before he was loaned to Getafe. Even at Getafe, the Old Ladies reportedly sent representatives to study the player. They have been strong admirers of his style of play and are ready for a swoop for the winger this summer. Italian outlets claim they are willing to meet Man United’s valuation (£40m) for the player but no offer has been made yet.

As the Sere A giants dilly-dally on the Greenwood move, LaLiga club Valencia have made a shock move for the 22-year-old. According to The Mirror, Valencia have submitted a £25m first bid to Manchester United for Greenwood.

The LaLiga club are hoping to add the prolific winger to their attacking lineup ahead of the next campaign. Manchester United are likely to reject the offer. It is understood the Old Trafford club are not ready to sell Greenwood at a cut price and would rather extend his contract instead to buy time for a suitable offer.

Meanwhile, sources close to Greenwood reveal the young footballer has given the greenlight for Juventus move amidst interest from other clubs. However, a move to LaLiga is not ruled out as he had equally expressed his desire to play in LaLiga after successfully reviving his career in the Spanish elite division.

In his six-month loan shift with Getafe, Greenwood turned a corner from his 18-month deadlock to put an impressive campaign with the team. He scored 8 LaLiga goals with 6 assists to reach his career-best tally in a single season. He also won Getafe Player of the Season after his 10-goal haul in 36 appearances for the club across all competitions.

The youngster will be hoping to continue on his roaring return to action on his next career stop away from Man United.
