Real Madrid have announced the signing of Kylian Mbappe from PSG. The LaLiga and European champions confirmed the signing of the prolific forward in a club statement which reads;
“Real Madrid C.F. and Kylian Mbappé have reached an agreement under which he will become a Real Madrid player for the next five seasons.”
Mbappe’s completion of his move to Real Madrid ends a dramatic chapter in the career of the French footballing sensation. The 25-year-old turned down the biggest football contracts in history to press on with his decision to move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
While PSG were losing the tussle to keep the player, the French giants hoped to write off the £168m transfer spend they invested in signing the top striker from Monaco in 2018.
It was a dicey affair. PSG’s value on the player would have made the youngster virtually unaffordable for his target club Real Madrid, hence the latter’s decision to secure a free exit to Santiago Bernabeu.
