The contract details of Kylian Mbappe, has been leaked, with PSG committed to huge financial obligations toward the French star.
Recall that the French forward snubbed a move to La Liga giants, Real Madrid to renew his deal with the Parisians in a grand ceremony at Parc des Princes.
The eye-watering PSG contract details, including staggering wages and bonus, has been leaked.
Kylian Mbappe eclipsed Lionel Messi as the highest-paid player in the world after signing a mega-deal with PSG in May 2022.
Mbappe’s deal with the French Ligue 1 giants has been deemed the biggest deal ever in football history.
Details of the leaked reports revealed that Paris Saint-Germain are committed to paying Kylian Mbappe £546million after he stopped all moves luring him to the Santiago Bernabeu in May.
Kylian Mbappe signed a three-year contract extension with the French Ligue 1 champions to stay at the club until 2025.
French President Emmanuel Macron is said to have personally encouraged the French star to stay at Paris by renewing his contract.
However, details of the contract have further revealed that Mbappe penned down a two-year contract, not three years contract.
The additional one year was said to be optional, meaning the 23-year-old’s contract will expire in 2024.
Mbappe had always opened up on his admiration of the Los Blancos and was reportedly keen on a switch to the La Liga giants.
PSG pulled the triggers and allowed the prolific youngster to equally weigh into club decisions and policies, all to ensure the move to Real Madrid did not take place.
Mbappe eventually committed his future to the club, but that commitment was doubted when explosive reports emerged that he wanted to leave in January.
The report, which emerged earlier this month confirmed that the French star is not happy at the club and is pushing for an exit.
A French newspaper, Le Parisien, said if Mbappe did agitate for a move, then there would be massive financial consequences for PSG after details of the contract agreement was leaked.
According to reports, PSG agreed to pay Mbappe a whooping €640m over the next three years, making Mbappe’s contract the biggest in football history, bigger than the €555m Messi received from Barcelona in 2017.
Neymar is also a high-earner at the club, with €267m agreed to be paid to the former Barcelona forward through his six-year stay at the club, a figure far lower than Mbappe’s entitlement.
A further breakdown of Mbappe’s contract details showed that he earns €6m every month.
The figure is said to deflate to €2.7m when tax is removed. His sign-on bonus stands at €180m, payable in three instalments every July even if he leaves early.
Also included in the contract details is a loyalty bonus of €70m, to be paid at the end of every season, and will be increased by €10m every season if he remains at Parc des Princes.
Kylian Mbappe is a prolific and top-class footballer for Paris Saint-German. He has banged 14 goals and 2 assists in all 15 matches in Ligue 1 and the Champions League so far this season.
PSG are five points clear at the top of Ligue 1 and sit join top of Group H in the Champions League after four matches.
However, PSG’s financial obligation to the French star is still considered outrageous to some extent at this point in football history.
