Amid the lingering tensions with PSG hierarchy, Kylian Mbappe seems to have sealed his fate in Paris with a bogus wage demand for him to leave PSG.
The footie ace is not ready to peck down his wage demand for any club interested in signing him.
After he fell out with PSG hierarchy, it was thought Mbappe will level down his terms to seal a move away from Paris but it appears the youngster is not budging at all on his estimation of his self worth and entitlement.
The French striker, once again, soared like an eagle to the zenith of his career both with France national team and his club PSG last season.
In all competitions, Kylian Mbappe hurled in 41 goals for PSG and scored 13 goals for France to increase his goal tally to 54 for club and country.
The 54-goal tally saw the 24-year-old leapfrog French football icon, Fontaine, as highest-scoring French footballer in a single season.
Mbappe won the Golden Boot award in the 2022 World Cup with 8 goals, including a legendary hat-trick in the final for Les Bleus.
He also won the French Ligue 1 title, French Ligue 1 Golden Boot Award, and emerged as the French Ligue 1 Player of the Season for the fourth consecutive time, surpassing the record held by Swedish football legend, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Despite his standout outing for France and PSG, Mbappe’s future at the French club is currently under wires.
The former Monaco forward submitted a letter to PSG revealing his decision not to extend his contract beyond 2024 after next season.
His decision was met with fury and anger by PSG who are currently ready to sell him and recoup their prodigious spending before losing him as a free agent after next season.
Mbappe’s exit letter was thought to be a move by the player to do away with all strings that may hinder his move away from PSG as he searches for a winning project to uplift his career but it appears that is not the case.
Apart from his reported £893,000 weekly wage at PSG which is a turn off for most clubs, marca reports Kylian Mbappe wants a salary package of £206m every season from any club he will join from PSG.
The report adds Real Madrid, who have been a long time admirer of Kylian Mbappe, are not ready to push for a move for the player this summer because the club believes he is a prisoner of money and must take a significant pay cut if he must land a winning project.
The European giants are not backing off entirely. They are planning to push for a move again for Mbappe after next season when he will be a free agent. However, they will still have to weather an overbloated wage bill should they sign the player on a free transfer after next season.
Real Madrid’s hope of signing Mbappe as a free agent may founder along the way as things stand. PSG are not ready to part ways with Mbappe on a free transfer hence they are ready to auction the player to the highest bidder. This means Real Madrid may likely lose out of signing the player this summer.
