Paris Saint Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe has been vaccinated against the dreaded coronavirus ahead of the forthcoming European Championship which will kick-off in June.

The 22-year-old French football star took to Instagram and Twitter to share pictures showing when he was taking the coronavirus vaccine.

Kylian Mbappe whose future at PSG has not been guaranteed unlike that of his teammate, Neymar, got vaccinated against the virus less than a week after Neymar received the vaccine.

This means that France national team would not have to worry about Kylian Mbappe contracting coronavirus during the forthcoming Euro 2020 which will take place between 11 June 2021 and 11 July 2021.

Mbappe is expected to lead the attack of the French team alongside Barcelona forward, Antoine Griezmann, and Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema. The European Championship will mark the first time for Mbappe to play alongside Benzema who has been out of the team for over 5 years.

Meanwhile, reports claimed that as Kylian Mbappe has been vaccinated against coronavirus, other of his teammates in France’s national team have received their dose of the vaccine ahead of Euro 2020.

It has also been reported that all the national teams that will participate in the European Championship might have to vaccinate their players before the competition kicks off.

As Kylian Mbappe would be enjoying himself with France during the European Championship, PSG will be striving to find a convincing way to keep the striker at the club beyond June 2022.

The French Ligue 1 side and the representatives of the footballer are yet to reach an agreement which will lead to the contract extension of the 22-year-old French striker.

With just a year left on his contract with PSG, Kylian Mbappe is strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer. However, the president of PSG, Nasser Al-Khelaifi believes that Mbappe would stay at the club contrary to speculations.

In an interview he granted recently, Al-Khelaifi insisted that “Kylian is a PSG player and he will continue to be a PSG player”.

“Mbappe is French and Parisian. He has a contract and wants to stay 100%”, he added.

It is left to see if PSG would be able to keep the Frenchman beyond this summer or 2022 when his contract with the club officially expires. Recall that Neymar just extended his contract with PSG and that might inspire Mbappe to do the same.
