It took Kylian Mbappe just 137 games to get his PSG 100th goal in a Ligue 1 clash against Montpellier as he now joins the likes of Edinson Cavani (200), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (156), Pauleta (109), and Dominique Rocheteau (100) in the record book of the Ligue 1 giant.

The 100th came against Montpellier on Staurday night in a match won 3-1 by the Paris club.

Having failed to score in his last three matches, Mbappe said he had been wanting to score for quite some days. He would be delighted now to reach the landmark at quite a fast rate just at the age of 21.

The hot then restored parity through 22-year-old Stephy Mavididi, who equalised from close.

It was then the turn of his former Juventus team-mate Moise Kean to put PSG back in the lead with a fine goal from a tight angle.

Mbappe then put the icing on the cake to tap home from close range for his landmark goal in his 137th game for the club.

“I’ve been wanting to score for a few matches, it’s a bit of a release.

“When I signed here, I wouldn’t even have thought of scoring three goals. [One hundred] was part of a distant goal,” he told Canal Plus.

Mbappe had showed what he could do in front of goal as a 16-year-old with Monaco. He scored 27 goals for the team before his £165m move to his hometown club.

Ahead of the Champions League must-win game against Istanbul Basaksehir, Neymar was rested by PSG while Mbappe was only a substitute.

PSG is currently second on the log with 9 points. They are tied on point with Manchester United that is occupying the first spot and Leipzig that is behind them on goals difference.
