Paris Saint Germain striker, Kylian Mbappe took to his Instagram page to share a picture of himself celebrating the French Ligue 1 title with a bottle of champagne.

In the picture, the 23-year-old French striker was seen topless in the locker room holding a bottle of champagne and wearing a big smile which proved that he was enjoying the moment.

In the caption, Kylian Mbappe whose contract with PSG will expire on June 30, 2022, wrote: “MOOD…🏆🎉🍾 #CHAMP1ONS”.

PSG were confirmed champions of French Ligue 1 for the 10th time in the history of the club on Saturday, April 23, 2022, after drawing 1-1 with 10-man Lens at Parc Des Princes.

PSG’s success in the 2021-2022 season has made them the joint-most successful club in the league in terms of the number of league titles won. Before now, Saint-Etienne used to be the only club that has won the French league title on ten different occasions.

During the title-winning match on Saturday, PSG played a 0-0 draw with Lens in the first half. When PSG’s players were marching to the pitch in the second half, they were greeted with boos from their home fans.

The fans booed the players because they were disappointed with how the team struggled with Lens in the first half of the game and were yet to move on from the fact that Real Madrid knocked PSG out of this season’s UEFA Champions League campaign.

Despite their boos, Lionel Messi scored his 4th Ligue 1 goal in the 68th minute to give PSG the lead. But in the 88th minute, the visitors equalized which motivated the home fans to start leaving the stadium.

Before the final whistle, the stadium was half empty even though the fans knew that the 1-1 draw was enough to confirm PSG as champions of the league. Though some of the fans later celebrated the title win outside the stadium, there were not enough fans to celebrate with the players in the stadium.

However, that did not stop PSG players to take the celebration into the locker room as they pumped Champagne on themselves as much as possible to show how much they cherish the privilege of winning the French Ligue 1 title.

Don’t be fooled by the celebration of Kylian Mbappe, he might not stay at PSG beyond this season

Though Kylian Mbappe shared a picture on his Instagram page to celebrate how happy he was after helping PSG to win the club’s 10th Ligue 1 title, his future at the club is still not certain.

Recall that Mbappe joined PSG on July 1, 2018, from Monaco for a transfer fee worth €145 million. The contract which reportedly pays him £413,000 per week will reportedly expire on June 30, 2022.

Due to how fantastic he has been for the club, PSG have been making every effort to renew Kylian Mbappe’s contract before the expiration date. But their effort has not been fruitful.

As Real Madrid have been trying to sign Mbappe so is the player making all necessary effort to join the club this summer. The fact that PSG have not been able to convince him to stay until this point could mean that the Frenchman would join Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer.

So far this season, Kylian Mbappe has scored 33 goals and provided 22 assists in 41 games in all competitions for PSG. He has won the French Ligue 1 title five times so far in his football career.
