Kyle Walker has admitted that Bernardo Silva is one of Manchester City’s players who has a strong relationship with Pep Guardiola.

The Portuguese International has had an excellent start to the new season with Man City after he penned a new contract extension with the club and it also means that he shares a special relationship with the boss in the team.

Bernardo Silva joined Man City from AS Monaco in the summer of 2017 and has become one of the team’s crucial players under the leadership of Pep Guardiola.

The 29-year-old midfielder has been a utility player for the Cityzens, playing in a combination of numerous roles and understanding the coach’s tactical system perfectly.

The former AS Monaco can play as a winger, he can operate as a No. 9, in a No. 8 position, and even as a No. 10, it is safe to say that the midfielder is like a jack of all trades.

Therefore, his versatility is perhaps a tremendous reason why the manager was so interested in ensuring that he signed a new contract with the club this summer.

Bernardo Silva has been with Manchester City since six years ago and has made over 300 appearances for the current European champions, winning several major trophies including five Premier League titles.

The 29-year-old midfielder has been regularly linked with a move away from Manchester with several European big clubs keen on his service but Pep Guardiola who admires him as a player managed to persuade him to stay at the club.

The duo have an excellent relationship and Kyle Walker has indicated that the Portuguese is regularly used as the middleman when the rest of the team has a request to ask for.

Speaking about Silva’s relationship with Guardiola, Kyle Walker said; “Bernardo Silva has such a good relationship with the manager that when we want days off, we ask him to go and talk to Pep”.

The bromance between the pair led to the player’s induction into the team’s captaincy selection.

Both Walker and the Portugal International are part of the team’s five-man leadership group, along with Kevin De Bruyne, Ruben Dias, and Rodri.

Meanwhile, Walker has also committed himself to Man City by signing a new contract until the summer of 2026 despite being linked with a move away from the club during the just-concluded summer transfer window.

On the other hand, Bernardo Silva will be examined at Manchester City on Thursday, 21st of September amid injury reports.

Pep Guardiola subbed him off during their Champions League clash with Crvena Zvezda on Tuesday, 19th of September before halftime.

The Cityzens’ head coach told reporters after the match that Silva would miss the next game, although he speculated that he had not spoken with the medical staff about the injury.
