Jurgen Klopp stated that it was a very decision for the Reds to let its talisman exit the club when the club seemed to need him the most. Barcelona paid a whopping sum of about £106 million to sign the Brazilian player.

Jurgen Klopp while speaking with the Pure Football Podcast, said: “I really respected Phil’s switch from the first second.

“Not that I do that all the time but it felt oh wow that could be difficult.

“Then we had to be hard in the summer because we had no other solution. We lost Adam Lallana [to injury] in that time as well, we would have lost two players.

“He was open to that [staying] and that was really cool. Then you have to be fair in the window and say we can do it, we don’t like it but we can do it.”

It is worthy to know that Coutinho’s move to Barcelona has become the greatest nightmare of his entire football career due to his inability to impress the Camp Nou bosses. However, critics have opined that Bayern Munich would not want to spend much in signing a player like Coutinho since the team is already furnished with lots of exciting players.
