Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City skipper, has tipped wantaway PSG star Kylian Mbappe to join La Liga side Real Madrid.
However, the Belgian international was asked about his view on where Mbappe will be playing in the coming season or next.
Kevin De Bruyne also picked his teammate Erling Haaland for the award after the Norwegian had a sensational first season at Manchester City.
Speaking on the wider point on the future of Ballon d’Or battles, De Bruyne believes Haaland vs. Mbappe will be the key race if only Mbappe joins Real Madrid.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Kevin De Bruyne said: “I don’t know where Mbappe will play this season. I think it’s more difficult for Mbappe to win a Ballon d’Or at PSG.”
“There are rumors he could go to Real Madrid, maybe that would put him first, ahead of Erling Haaland”.
Mbappe’s current deal with PSG expires at the end of the 2023/24 season, and despite renewed optimism over a possible renewal in Paris, he looks determined to join Real Madrid.

Mbappe, PSG and Real Madrid
Recall we reported that Kylian Mbappe recently turned down PSG’s latest contract offer despite opting to remain at the club for the 2023/2024 season.
The Frenchman is interested in a move to Real Madrid on a free transfer next summer but as we know, nothing can be predicted about his future.
Mbappe and PSG were reported to be in negotiations and his continuity beyond this season became a possibility.
Ramon Alvarez de Mon, however, reports that Mbappe has rejected the contract offer that was tabled for him by the Ligue 1 giants.
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti ruled out the signing of Kylian Mbappe from PSG saying they were done with transfer this summer.
