Kevin De Bruyne took to his Instagram account to celebrate the love of his life Michèle who turned 31-year-old on Thursday, December 8.
The Belgian who recently crashed out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup going on in Qatar, did not hesitate to wish the mother of his three kids well on her day.
With only two games remaining in the Premier League last season, De Bruyne’s four-goal performance in the first hour of City’s 5-1 victory over Wolves ultimately helped City clinch the title and kept Guardiola’s team ahead of rivals Liverpool.
And when City appeared to have thrown the title away by falling behind 2-0 at home to Aston Villa, it was De Bruyne who once again helped them get the job done, this time with an assist for the game-winning goal. He skipped past two challenges before directing the ball across the face of goal for Ilkay Gundogan to put the game away.
De Bruyne’s continued relevance to City was shown by his assist on the goal that gave City their fourth title in five years.
His 16 goals for City in 2022, 13 assists thus far in all competitions this season, and 14 total assists last season serve as additional evidence of his continued importance to City.
When questioned earlier this year about life without De Bruyne, Guardiola said the Belgian still has a few more seasons to play at the greatest level as the Belgian continues to work wonders for City.
The midfielder has won Premier League Player of the Year twice since joining Manchester City in 2015 and has assisted the squad in winning four Premier League championships in seven seasons.
The Belgian athlete began his career playing for Genk in his own country before joining Chelsea in the Premier League. In 2014, he relocated to Wolfsburg in Germany, where he eventually met his wife, Michèle, while playing in the German Bundesliga.
Three years later, in 2017, Kevin and Michèle got married. They now have two sons and a daughter.
Kevin paid tribute to his wife in a 2019 interview with The Players’ Tribune, saying that she “changed my life in so many ways. Honestly, I don’t know what I would do without her.”
