Kane, Son, Thiago Silva nominated for October Premier League Player award

    Tottenham Hotspurs’s striker partners, Harry Kane, and Heung-Ming Son have been shortlisted for October’s Premier League Player of the Month award.

    The pair has been in astonishing form scoring and creating assist for each other. Kane at yesternight hit a landmark 200 goals in 300 games for Spurs after a 3-1 win over Ludogoret in the UEFA Europa League.

    Also of high mention is Jack Grealish, who led Aston Villa to the decimation of Liverpool.

    The winner will emerge through votes before 18:00 GMT on Monday 9 November.

    “The votes from the public will be combined with those of the 20 club captains and a panel of football experts to decide the winner, who will be revealed next week,” a statement from the Premier League reads.

    Who are the Premier League October Player of the Month Nominees?

    Che Adams (SOU)

    Che Adams seems to have found his foot at St. Mary’s after failing to sparkle in his first season in the top flight.

    On a season where he score just four goals in 33 games, he has now registered two in 8 games.

    His partnership with Danny Ings seems to be working. During the month under review, the former Birmingham striker opened his account for the season with a goal, as well as an assist, in the 3-3 draw at Chelsea.

    He then scored again in the 2-0 win over Everton, ending the Toffees’ unbeaten run start.

    Conor Coady (WOL)
    Wolverhampton Wanderers captain, Conor Coady has led by example, helping his side register three clean sheets in wins over Fulham, Leeds United and Crystal Palace, as well as a draw with Newcastle United.

    The Nuno Santo’s men were unbeaten during the month.

    Pablo Fornals (WHU)

    The Spanish midfielder was rewarded with a nominations for his goals at Leicester City and Liverpool.

    His all-round performances see him set up a goal in the 3-0 win at King Power Stadium.

    The Aston Villa captain led his side to a two win and one defeat during the months under review scoring two goals and getting three asists.

    His outstanding was in Aston Villa’s sensational 7-2 victory over champions Liverpool, scoring two goals and providing three assists, and also impressed in a win at Leicester.

    Kane got a high mention in the group with four goals and three assists in three games played in the month of October, where Spurs won two and drew one.

    The English captain recorded a brace in Tottenham Hotspur’s excellent 6-1 win at Manchester United.

    He followed it up with another brace against West Ham United. Apart from scoring he set up goals in all three October appearances, getting his eight assist along the way which doubles the total of anyone else.

    Son Heung-min (TOT)

    The nomination of the South Korean is not a surprise, having scored in all the three games he played in October.

    His partnership with Kane sees him score four and created two in October. Apart from the Man United win, one of his high points was his decisive goal in the 1-0 success at Burnley. He currently holds a joint-lead in the race for the Golden Boot race with eight goals.

    Thiago Silva (CHE)

    The Brazilian centre-back seems to have found his feet in England after a debut to remember against West Brom.

    During the three games he featured in, Thiago Silva showed commanding presence at the back, helping Chelsea record clean sheets in the three matches that their 36-year-old summer signing played.

    Kyle Walker (MCI)

    Walker will forever remember his solitary strike against Sheffield United that secured the maximum point for under-pressure Man City as the Citizens played four, won two, and drew two.

    Coincidentally the goal came in his 100th Premier League appearance for Manchester City against his boyhood club.

    Having earned two clean sheets during the month, Walker will be hoping o have more of this.
