Kalidou Koulibaly, 31 have made Chelsea Premier League title vow after joining the club from Napoli.

It is his first season in the Premier League, but he has vowed to ensure that Chelsea emerges champions of the 2022/23 Premier League season.

Despite the growing gap between Chelsea and the table-toppers, Kalidou Koulibaly is optimistic about landing the Premier League title this season with the Blues in his debut season.

According to him, he is keen on ‘writing history’ despite struggling to find his feet since his £33million move from Napoli to the club.

Chelsea suffered a shock and heavy defeat to Brighton at Ellands Road. It was a typically gratifying way for fans of the Seagulls to welcome their former manager to Elland Road.

Graham Potter has maintained an unbeaten run prior to the game had hope to consolidate on his fine run before the game.

Out of his nine games, he has won six, drawing three including a Champions League double against AC Milan.

However, everything was torn asunder by the Roberto de Zerbi-led squad as he returned to his former club.

Despite the shock defeat, Kalidou Koulibaly has maintained that the confidence in the Blues’ squad instilled by Graham Potter is enough to secure the Premier League title for the club.

Despite consistently making it to the Champions League spot, Chelsea has not put up a strong performance enough to qualify them as Premier League title contenders.

Arsenal are currently top and are ten points clear of Chelsea, who are sixth in the table. Despite the odds against the prediction, Kalidou Koulibaly is not wavering in his stand.

He has seen enough in his early days under Potter to stick his neck out for an audacious ambition for a Premier League title.

A significant factor boosting Koulibaly’s confidence is the sharp turn of things for the Blues in the defense in their nine match unbeaten run.

The Kalidou Koulibaly-led defense has kept five clean sheets in the nine-match unbeaten run, restoring the confidence in the backline.

“It will be Chelsea’s at the end of the season,” he told Italian publication Courier della Serra ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League tie against Dinamo Zagreb. “I want to write history here.”

The highly-rated center-back joined Chelsea for £33million in the summer after eight years in the Serie A and was greeted with the sack of Thomas Tuchel – the man who pressed for his signing.

“I arrive with a manager who wanted me at all costs, and then he leaves,” Koulibaly added. “Both Tuchel and Graham Potter play with a three-man defence.”

Koulibaly admitted to the tough test of fitting into new defensive tactics at Stamford Bridge.

“I was used to Napoli with the four-man defence. It’s another arrow that I put in my bow. You never stop learning. I knew I was going to have a hard time, and it did”, he noted.

“Even (former Chelsea stars) Gianfranco Zola and Didier Drogba had anticipated it would be that way and told me.”

The Chelsea team have been resurgent since Tuchel’s departure, however, with four clean sheets in the eight Premier League games in which Koulibaly has started. The Blues Colossus even weighed in with a goal against Spurs in August.
