Juventus Transfer news: Chiesa transfer from Fiorentina may cost Juve €50m

    Juventus has completed the deadline day signing of Federico Chiesa from Fiorentina on a two-year loan.

    The Serie A giant also has the obligation to buy him permanently for €50 million.

    The 22-year-old Italy international is considered one of the hottest prospects in Italian football and the move. The Turin club finalized the move once Douglas Costa completed a loan move to Bayern Munich.

    But Juve will initially pay €10m over the two seasons for the loan with €3m for the 2020-21 campaign and €7m for the following term. The Bianconeri will then balance up €40m to make the deal permanent payable over three years. But it could rise by a further €10m.

    The winger made his debut for La Viola in 2016. His meteoric form has made him a regular in the Italy side under Roberto Mancini. He has so far earned 19 caps since his first appearance in 2018.

    Chiesa, whose father Enrico was also an Italy international who played for Fiorentina, will find his former Viola teammate Federico Bernardeschi at Juve. The midfielder left Fiorentina for the Turin giants in 2017.

    Chiesa insulted over Juve move

    Meanwhile, Chiesa is facing a backlash over the move after being insulted by his former Fiorentina fans.

    The winger got insulted on Monday afternoon while he was on his way out of Florence’s Fanfani clinic where he had undergone his medical tests with the Old Lady.

    The medicals had to be done there because Chiesa couldn’t make it to Torino as he is currently on International duty with Italy National team. .

    He began his medical examination in the morning and left the spot in the afternoon, only to find a bunch of Fiorentina fans who booed and insulted him screaming “Shame on you”, “Traitor” and “Clown”.

    Chiesa is not the first player to switch allegiance to the Old Lady fronm Viola.

    He has now followed the footsteps of Roberto Baggio, Federico Bernardeschi, Felipe Melo, Netoto be amongst others that had previously left Fiorentina to join Juventus.

    Lega Calcio confirmed the move on Monday, while Juve and Fiorentina later confirmed the details as well.

    “Juventus Football Club SpA announces that it has reached an agreement with ACF Fiorentina for the acquisition, on a temporary basis until 30 June 2022, of the registration rights of the football player Federico Chiesa for a consideration of € 10 million, of which € 3 million for the 2020/2021 football season and € 7 million for the 2021/2022 football season. Furthermore, the agreement provides:

    • The obligation on the part of Juventus to acquire the player’s sports performance on a definitive basis upon achieving certain sporting objectives during the 2021/2022 season;

    • Juventus’ right to definitively acquire the player’s sports performances should these objectives not be achieved.

    “The consideration agreed for the definitive acquisition, in both cases, is equal to € 40 million, payable in three financial years, and maybe increased, during the duration of the sports service contract with the player, for an amount not exceeding € 10 million upon the achievement of further objectives.”

    Other Fiorentina transfer

    Fiorentina also announced the arrival of Antonio Barreca and Jose Callejon.

    Jose Callejon set to continue his Serie A stint with Fiorentina.

    Callejon during his Napoli stint played 350 games for the Pertonopei, scoring 82 goals and provided 78 assists. He also won two Italian Cups and an Italian Super Cup.

    Callejon also played for the Spanish national team shirt on 5 occasions.
