Seria A champions Juventus have snubbed Barcelona striker Luis Suarez and opted to move for AS Roma man Edin Dzeko as the Bosnian international pens a two-year deal with the Old Lady.

Luis Suarez’s chances of a move to the Serie A has been dashed as it has been reported by Sky Sports’ reporter Fabrizio Romano that Bosnia and Herzegovina striker Edin Dzeko will move to Juventus, ending a five-year stint with AS Roma after he moved from Manchester City.

It is reported that Juventus will pay AS Roma a total of €16m (£15m/$19m), while Edin Dzeko will sign a two-year deal worth €7.5 million (£7m/$9m) per year.

Newly-appointed head coach Andre Pirlo looks to build a new Juventus as he continues his squad overhaul since taking over from Maurizio Sarri at the helm and Dzeko will provide additional attacking option and threat to any opponents as he would line up with Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala.

With Gonzalo Higuain set to join MLS outfit Inter Miami, Pirlo had been on the look-out for a striker with Barcelona want-away Luis Suarez heavily linked with the club.

They have also been rumored to be interested in France international and Chelsea target man Olivier Giroud, Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata, and Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani.

However, Pirlo has outlined Roma’s Edin Dzeko as a perfect fit as he looks to out-do his predecessor and make Juventus contenders for the UEFA Champions League once.

Dzeko has proven he is a serial winner. In his two-decade-long career, the 33-year-old has won titles in both Germany, with Wolfsburg, and England, with Manchester City, before leading Bosnia and Herzegovina to their first World Cup appearance in 2014 in Brazil.

Since joining AS Roma, he has won the club’s jersey on 222 occasions, scoring 106 goals. He finished as the Serie A highest goal scorer for the 2016/17 season with 29 goals and also led the scoring charts in the Europa League.
