Juventus is interested in signing Barcelona’s Frenkie De Jong
According to people familiar with the matter, Frenkie De Jong was part of the discussion during talks about Miralem Pjanic and Mattia De Sciglio. Miralem Pjanic is expected to sign a transfer deal with Barcelona with multiple sources confirming that he has already agreed on terms with Barca. The deal provided a chance for Juventus to inquire about Frenkie De Jong in a swap deal, and they took advantage of it. Both sides discussed a swap possibility but they are yet to reach an agreement.
According to reports, the Blaugrana made multiple attempts to send midfielder Author Melo over to Juventus but he refused the deal each time it was brought up.
Another report said, Bianconeri made a request about De Jong concerning the exchange deal, but it may be shut down by De Jong, since he just moved to Barcelona.
Also, journalist Luca Momblano said that in the talks, there was a ‘nod’ or ‘wink’ from De Jong’s entourage, a stark contrast from what they have encountered with Arthur.
