The manager of Liverpool football club, Jurgen Klopp has made it clear that he would not sign any player who has not been vaccinated against the dreaded coronavirus.

He described the players who are yet to be vaccinated as a constant threat to others. Hence, the forthcoming January transfer window would be influenced by the vaccine status of the players in the transfer market.

Jurgen Klopp however noted that he does not plan to bring in a new player in the forthcoming transfer window.

Liverpool are one of the few Premier League clubs that have been fully doubled jabbed which means that they are shielded against the virus.

However, some clubs still have a couple of players who are yet to be fully vaccinated. Hence, the Premier League is gradually sliding into a full coronavirus crisis due to the number of clubs that have reported a high number of coronavirus cases.

The increasing number of cases have forced the Premier League to postpone six league games slated to take place this weekend.

Also, the rising cases have forced the Premier League to schedule a meeting on Monday, December 20, 2021, to discuss how to manage the situation in the league and also decide on when the postponed league games will take place.

As for Jurgen Klopp and his team, they intend to remain safe from the virus by ensuring that before any play joins the club either in January or next summer, such a player is fully vaccinated against the virus.

Ahead of the Liverpool Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur scheduled to take place later today, December 19, 2021, at 17:30, Jurgen Klopp noted that life will be too difficult at the club if there was a player that was yet to be vaccinated.

The German tactician said: “We are not close to signing a player but, yes, it would be influential.

“If a player is not vaccinated at all, he is a constant threat for all of us. He doesn’t want to be a threat, of course, it is not that he thinks, ‘Oh my God, I don’t care about the others,’ but he is and we have to find different scenarios.

“He has to change in a different dressing room, he has to eat in a different dining room, he has to sit in a different bus, he has to drive in a different car.

“From an organizational point of view, it gets really messy. If you really want to follow the protocols, it is incredibly difficult to do. If one gets Covid and he was in the last four days around him, he will be in isolation.

“If we have to travel to a country to play international football and we come back, he has to self-isolate – all these kinds of things.”

Jurgen Klopp and his boys are expected to beat Tottenham Hotspur later today to maintain their second spot on the league table. They are currently second with 40 points in 17 games, a point behind first-place Manchester City.

While Tottenham Hotspur (one of the teams that have suffered from the virus this season) is 7th with 25 points in 14 games. Spurs have played only 14 league games so far this season because their last three league games were postponed due to the outbreak of the pandemic.
