Liverpool has gained a fitness advantage ahead of their match against Man City on Sunday, with Jurgen Klopp admitting that his squad is totally fit. The Reds are presently one point behind Pep Guardiola’s team in the league, but if they triumph at the Etihad on Sunday, they will move first.

After sustaining a hit to the head in the dying seconds of Liverpool’s Champions League victory against Benfica in midweek, there had been some doubts regarding Fabinho. The Reds coach, on the other hand, downplayed any notion that the Brazilian would be a concern for the match against Man City.

In his pre-match news conference, the German emphasized that he had a complete squad to select from, in direct contradiction to his side’s prior matches with the defending champions.

“Pretty much (everyone is fit). I had a look last time on my smartphone and it looks like everyone is available again.”

For the majority of 2022, Liverpool has managed to report few injuries, with the German only having to leave out four senior players from his matchday squad as a result. Mohamed Salah, on the other hand, is set to play for Man City.

The Egyptian hasn’t been in the greatest of form lately and still hasn’t scored from open play since mid-February. With his future at Anfield still up in the air, the attacker has had to contend with a demanding schedule for both club and country, as well as an international disappointment after losing in the Africa Cup of Nations final and failing to qualify for the World Cup.

Jurgen Klopp, on the other hand, is unconcerned about the 29-year-old and has suggested that he may choose an experienced squad to play City in the Premier League championship fight.

“I didn’t know about stories about him,” he said. “I thought it was intensity, 120 minutes six times or whatever, not the stories that were written. I don’t even know what they were. Yes, big-game experience helps. Definitely. It’s not the only important thing you consider when you make a line-up but it’s one of them.
