After Liverpool won their game in hand on Wednesday, the game between them and first-placed Manchester City has reduced to just three points.
So far this season, Manchester City have recorded 20 wins, three draws, and three defeats which earned the reigning Premier League champions 63 points in 26 games.
On the other hand, Liverpool have recorded 18 wins, 6 draws, and two defeats which earned the title contenders 60 points in 26 games.

While Liverpool have scored 70 Premier League goals this season and they have conceded 20 goals which means that their goals difference is 50.
As it stands, if Manchester City suffer any defeat in the league and Liverpool continue to win their league games, Liverpool will overtake City due to their superior goals difference.
The most important league game for the two teams this season is the league game against each other which is scheduled to take place on April 10, 2022. Any team that wins the league game could go on to win the title.
Jurgen Klopp is not chasing down Manchester City
The manager of Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp has insisted that he and his team are focused on winning games not on chasing down the Premier League table-toppers Manchester City.
“We don’t chase City, we try to win our football games,” coach Jurgen Klopp said. “Obviously we have our cup final at the weekend, City plays before and they might win, so it [the lead] could be six points again before we next play.
“I’m not sure whether we play before or after them in the game after, so it might be nine points all of a sudden. We don’t have to count this kind of things, we just have to win our football games.”
🗣 "We don't chase City."
