Jurgen Klopp describes Liverpool’s win over Wolves as “dirty three points”

The manager of Liverpool football club, Jurgen Klopp has described the club’s win over wolves as a “dirty three points”, stressing that it is now all about the result.

Liverpool have been suffering inconsistency in the Premier League since the turn of the new year which has seen the club slid from the top of the league table to the 6th spot within three months.

Jurgen Klopp and his boys have recorded 7 defeats in their last 10 Premier League games. The club has only managed to win three games since January 21.

But on March 15, Liverpool recorded their third win since late January in a match which ought to be a win for Wolves that hosted the reigning Premier League champions at the Molineux Stadium.

The wolves played better than Liverpool based on their possession of the ball. The host recorded 53 percent of the possession as against Liverpool’s 47 percent. Though Wolves made 508 passes as against Liverpool’s 467 passes, the reigning Premier League champions had 12 shots while Wolves had 10.

However, 5 of Wolves’ Shots were on target while 4 of Liverpool’s shots were on target. Despite that, Liverpool were lucky enough to get the most desired three points, thanks to Diego Jota’s first-half goal.

“It’s all about the result,” Jurgen Klopp told Sky Sports after the game. “It was a big fight. We won three dirty points, and I’m fine with that if that’s what it takes to try to get back on track.

“We had very good moments where we should have done better offensively. Defensively the whole game was really good.

“I didn’t like the start; we weren’t active enough. But we improved a lot and defended well, and that was the main target today.”

On the goal, Jurgen Klopp added that: “there were a lot of really good football moments. The goal we scored was beautiful.

“I thought the goalie would have saved it but in the end, the ball goes in, which was important for us. We got the three points, and everything was fine.

“It’s been hard for the team, but there was a lot of good news tonight and, most important, we got the three points. We want to go into the [international] break with a positive feeling and we have it.”

Jurgen Klopp and his boys are expected to maintain this form against Arsenal on April 4. A win in the Premier League game could help the club to push closer to a Champions League spot.
