According to Jurgen Klinsmann, Lewandowski is a Bayern Munich legend and will be missed by the supporters. Robert Lewandowski’s exit from Bayern Munich had a lot of controversies and rumors but Klinsmann believes that the goal machine will be welcomed back with open arms.

The 34-year-old Polish captain joined Barcelona this week on a £50 million deal as his eight years stay at Bayern Munich came to a dramatic end.

Lewandowski who joined the German Bundesliga champions from Borussia Dortmund left with a total of 344 goals in all competitions following weeks’ rejections of offers. Bayern Munich was not ready to release their star player this summer but the Polish have made it known that he wants to leave the club.

Due to the way he left the club, Robert Lewandowski never got a proper send-off ceremony from Bayern Munich since he was one of their best players. Unlike what legends Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery got from the German champions, Jurgen Klinsmann admitted that the club will someday give Robert Lewandowski the proper farewell.

While speaking during an interview with GOAL, Jurgen Klinsmann said: “Well, I think in the short term, there’s a little bit of sadness. Maybe also a little bit of attention because there was still hope that he would stay and not get moved out.”

According to him, Robert Lewandowski is one of the biggest legends in the history of Bayern Munich, one of the most exciting and exceptional players to play for them. He added that soon every member of the Bayern Munich family will be forever thankful for what Lewandowski has done for them.

Jurgen Klinsmann claimed that the Polish captain may come back to Bayern during a friendly game or European cup competition, where he would get exceptional reception from the Bayern fans.

Klinsmann also reacted to the departure of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund to Man City this summer. According to him, he’s not surprised that Erling Haaland left the German Bundesliga club because he’s a very special kid in front of goal. However, he stated that he’s curious to see how the Norway hitman will fit into Pep Guardiola’s team and the English Premier League style of play.

Meanwhile, FC Bayern Munich has replaced Robert Lewandowski with the signing of Sadio Mane from Liverpool while Borussia Dortmund replaced Erling Haaland by securing the services of Sebastian Haller from Ajax.
